“I’m so ready. I can kick this. It’s time.”
Scarlet – Aerospace worker and smoker for over 30 years.
Quitting for a brighter smile and freedom from addiction.
I am 61 years old and have smoked for 30 years. My skin is wrinkled and my voice sounds like a man’s. My teeth are very yellow. I’m ready to quit and need help, support, and encouragement. I have managed to conquer other difficult addictions in my life, but the tobacco is killing me. I’m so ready. I think with a support system in place, and the accountability of documenting this process with the Be A Quitter campaign, I can kick this. It’s time. And the accomplishment would be the best thing for me. I live alone, so not having to be accountable makes it easier to go ahead and smoke. I now smoke in my house and newer car. Addiction sucks. I’m willing to go to any length to hear the words ‘I don’t smoke anymore’ come out of my mouth.”
